As always, please read through this and all related documents in their entirety before proceeding. This is very important.
VMWare VMAP Registration & Download
Your accounts should be ready so…
*Note VMWare changes their Website without notice (including the URL above). If the url above is not working you can search using the keywords “e5.onthehub” and Hudson Valley allowing your search engine to resolve the changes and get you to the site.
On this page, choose Signin at the top of that page and then Register using your full hvcc email address as your username on the next page. Once you enter your HVCC email address as your username to register you will be led through the registration process. Note that it can take some time for your account to become fully active after you signin (even a full day). I added screenshots of my registration and download process in this item’s submenu however they are only a guide as you may see something slightly different. (This process is detailed with screenshots below)
Following the registration process, please download the latest (highest number) VMWare Virtual Machine for your platform (VMWare Fusion for Mac, VMWare Workstation for Windows in accord with your OS) to your desktop.
Please note the “Archive” and “Other” links on the left as they will have older VMWare/Fusion versions for older OSs (e.g. Windows XP, Vista, etc.). If the latest version doesn’t work, please let me know and proceed to try an earlier version (compare the latest versions in “Archive” and “Other” and try the more recent version first. It would also be a good idea to search for the best version for your older OS.
I specify to download the desktop because all download and installation instructions will be performed using the desktop as it is easy to find and remove these files later). Please record the registration key on the check out page as you will need this upon installation and save your email receipt so that you can access and re-download as necessary in the future. Also see the BTW information below as you may wish to view VMWare eLearning resources before installation.
Now if you need to get back into the VMWare VMAP store to redownload your VMWare Application you can get there directly here: http://e5.onthehub.com/d.ashx?s=59rayjhdqy
BTW – On the main VMWare page also note the VMWare eLearning link and resources as these tutorials are available to you and you are free to pursue VMWare Certified Professional Certification on your own. To take advantage of these resources, click on the VMWare eLearning logo and on the following page, add the VMWare eLearning Token to your cart. Upon checkout you will see the Token provides you with a Registration Number. Record this Registration Number as it will provide you with access to all of the eLearning resources.
To Register you will first go to the VMWare VMAP site http://e5.onthehub.com/d.ashx?s=59rayjhdqy and choose “Signin” at top of page and then “Register” on the subsequent page.
Now input your HVCC email to register (note I am using my gmail but this is only for illustrative purposes and only your HVCC email will work).
Note the Red Email Message and you should now have an email similar to the following so click on the “Complete Your Registration” (note sometimes the emails get lost so if a 1/2 has transpired you may return to signin to your now active account).
Clicking on “Complete Your Registration” leads you here so enter your Lastname and Firstname and choose a password. Please please please use the same password for your HVCC account, AcadNX and upcoming Ubuntu Guest OS accounts as I will not be able to reset your password should you lose it. When done choose “Register”.
Now on to selecting and downloading your VMWare product.
Choose VMWare Fusion for Mac or Workstation for Win/PC.
